BREAKING: AFRICA ON THE GLOBAL INTERNET-'LET'S DIVE IN'
DID you know, world's current population stands at 8.12 billion as for today's stats? That Internet users are expected to reach 5.3 billion in 2023 which is an increase of 0.5% from 2022. The number of internet users in the United States is expected to reach 332.14 million, of it's 341 million citizens by the end of 2028-With 90% of the internet is accessed by the age group of 18–29 years. While internet penetration in the African continent is a mere 66 percent in Southern Africa to a low of 24 percent in Central Africa.
THE entire continent of 1.49 billion individuals still only records around 570 million internet users in 2022. That Africa is the world's second-largest and second-most populous continent after Asia. But boasts a mild $2.96 trillion GDP, $2189 per capita, landing 5th and 6th place in the world respectively. In steep contrast, India's 2022 GDP is $3.417 trillion, China's is $17.96 trillion and the United States of America, a massive $25.44 trillion. With 5 billion plus internet users worldwide, the number of smartphone users is forecasted to reach 6 billion by 2027, internet penetration and accessibility are increasing on the mother continent, there has never been a better time in history to grab the vast opportunities presented by the world wide web ECOMMERCE, technological advancements
and groundbreaking AI innovations.
YET, a striking divide between African countries and regions is still evident. With the internet penetration rate varying substantially across regions; 80 percent plus for Morocco, 60 percent in Egypt and only 24 percent for Central Africa. The internet and telecommunication infrastructure in Africa remains scarce and underdeveloped, mainly due to inadequate investments, huge lack of operational fiber optic network nodes within required distances, very low reach of 4G technology in African households all serious issues that stand tall in the way of modern day and future developments. Our F2 project provides a stellar blueprint to achieving one powerful goal: Provide 10 million struggling kids with the most basic of human needs, healthy food for healthier life. Dear Africa, Addressing child hunger in the mighty continent is critical as more than 1 billion people struggle to afford a healthy diet, approximately 30% of children on the continent suffer from stunted growth due to malnutrition, an estimated 20% of the population is undernourished, an estimated 868 million people experienced moderate to severe food insecurity in Africa in 2022, with over one-third of those facing severe food insecurity. Escalating conflict in Sudan in 2023 added 8.6 million people to those facing extreme hunger, between October and December 2023, 4.3 million people experienced acute food insecurity, with 1 million threatened by starvation in Somalia, while in West Africa 49.5 million people may go hungry by August 2024, with coastal areas hit hardest. 82% of Niger's population faces insufficient food consumption due to recent price surges, with 1.9 million children under 5 expected to be acutely malnourished, and sadly, hunger leads to more than two deaths each day for every 10,000 people; 200 out of 1 million people die daily as a direct result of hunger. Brothers and sister, what do we do? Traditional charity and philanthropy? No. Financial donations for food provision? No. 100% Free food distribution. No What then? It's simple.
